The world of mental health care has been rapidly expanding in the last decades, and it’s a great thing that there are so many different types of professionals who can we can turn to for help.
It’s common, though, to not quite understand the difference. This brief overview is meant to help you to better understand your needs and who to turn to. However, starting with any of these professionals should mean that they can point you in the right direction if they are not able to help. It’s also important to note that this is based on information here in Ontario, Canada, and the definition and requirements for these roles may change if you are elsewhere in the world.
